Abstract
Triangular sections were cut from the posterior wall of the vagina of white rats. These wounds healed within 5 days regardless of therapy; the rats were sacrificed 3 and 4 days after the lesion had been made. Estradiol benzoate, dienestrol and ethynylestradiol were given in doses of 5-500 [mu]g. (dienestrol in 500 [mu]g. only)., subcut. on the day of operation or on the following day. Wound healing was faster in the estrogen-treated rats. In parabiotic pairs, the healing was faster in the animal with hyper-ovarian function than in the spayed partner. Keywords
