Abstract
Measurements of the intensity vs phase angle distributions of the sonoluminesce of cavitated water have been made at 400, 600, and 1200 kc. Peak acoustic pressure ranged from 1.8–2.8 atm. In agreement with the theory of Noltingk and Neppiras, the emission was found to take place in the compression phase. Calculation of the intensity vs phase angle distribution based on the Noltingk-Neppiras theory gave results which agreed well with experiment. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
