USING THE HUMANITIES IN NURSING EDUCATION

Abstract
The humanities can play an important role in nursing education. In this article, the author shows how creative literature provides us with an opportunity to gain insight into human behavior in the face of illness. By exercising our imagination, we can develop a sensitivity that ordinarily would be acquired only through extensive personal experience.
