Influence of Ingestion of Single Amino Acids on the Level of Free Amino Acids in Human Saliva

Abstract
The effect of ingestion of large doses of an amino acid taken per os, on its concn. in saliva is reported for 12 amino acids. In general, their ingestion resulted in considerable increase in the salivary level, which returned to normal within one hour. The well-recognized conversion of phenylalanine to tyrosine was not observed in our saliva studies.
