Abstract
Sugars from honeydew secreted by insects or from nectar in alfalfa flowers were necessary for maximum survival of nymphs of L. hesperus Knight on alfalfa. Dipping plants in melezitose, sucrose, or honey solutions increased survival from 12 to 85-88%. Introduction of mealybugs, aphids, or alfalfa flowers also increased survival. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
