Gel electrophoresis of the cell envelope of a division mutant of Escherichia coli

Abstract

The cell envelopes of lon⁺ and lon⁻ strains of Escherichia coli were compared by acrylamide gel electrophoresis. Lon⁻ cells were found to have a decrease in a major component of the cell envelope.
