Combined Gas and Supercritical Fluid Chromatography for the High Resolution Separation of Volatile and Nonvolatile Compounds

Abstract
Mixtures containing both volatile and nonvolatile organic compounds are separated on one column using a single injection by combining capillary gas chromatography and capillary supercritical fluid chromatography. By performing separations in this manner, it becomes possible to separate both the volatile and the nonvolatile portions of complex samples at high resolution in one continuous process. Several of the requirements for a combined GC/SFC analysis are discussed.
