Abstract
The Event Control System (ECS) is a VAX/VMS-based process scheduler for controlling the activation of data-acquisition and data-reduction and display programs. ECS provides the user the ability to specify inter-process "dependencies" which must be satisfied before a particular program (VAX/VMS process) is "activated". In addition, ECS regulates the number of "active" processes, selects processes for activation, and dynamically adjusts VMS priorities for the processes. Keywords
