Abstract
A computer code, LITFIRE, has been written to simulate the effects of lithium fires in fusion reactor containments. Development of the models in the code is discussed. Results of a study based on small-scale tests of lithium fires indicate that the code is capable of reasonable predictions of the temperature of the lithium pool and the atmosphere. However, the effects of simultaneous reactions with oxygen and nitrogen are the major source of uncertainty. Keywords
