Abstract
It is suggested that there is a direct proportionality between the nuclear spin-orbit energy and the size of the nuclear moments responsible for decay via pseudoscalar coupling. On this assumption, the observed size of the spin orbit splitting is adequate to account for the large moment needed for explaining the RaE spectrum, within the uncertainties in the knowledge of these phenomena.
