Abstract
Optical second harmonic generation (SHG) has been observed in paraelectric BaTiO3 as well as in the ordered and disordered phase of NaNO3. Experimental results are interpreted in terms of two types of SHG operative in imperfect and perfect centrosymmetric crystals respectively.Keywords
