Abstract
The isometric contractile response of rabbit aortic strips in response to histamine was studied. Biphasic dose-dependent contractions reflecting release of internal Ca2+ (phasic component) and simultaneous mobilization of external Ca2+ stores (tonic component) were produced.Keywords
