Amebic Abscess of the Liver 1

Abstract
Summary 1. There is presented a case of amebic dysentery with complicating liver abscess and fatal termination, fairly typical in clinical history and course, unrecognized until the autopsy. 2. The disease was apparently contracted in New York City. 3. Endamoeba dysenteriae tends to travel through the blood stream. 4. For identification of the parasites in unusual locations several staining methods should be employed to avoid mistake.
