Abstract
The light threshold controlling the migration of Chaoborus punctipennis from the sediments into the water column of a NE Georgia impoundment in the evening was found to be 2.44 lux in the winter. The threshold changed in the spring. This was the result of the seasonal change in light period affecting the animals. Laboratory experiments gave a mean threshold value of 7.44 lux, and showed that the animals were most stimulated by light between 500 and 600 m@m.Keywords
