Abstract
The patterns of amino acids derived from the calcareous skeletons of various marine organisms were found to be strikingly different, even for closely related taxa. The amino acid patterns of the species Crassostrea virginica were found to be constant in spite of the fact that the specimens examined were from widely separated geographic localities ranging from Massachusetts to Texas. Keywords
