Abstract
A nonlinear mechanism for exciting electron-phonon density fluctuation by means of a long-wavelength radiation field is discussed as a realistic model for doped semidonductors. Calculation of the threshold field for this phenomenon are presented, for optical as well as acoustical phonons in the infrared- and microwave-frequency regions. Keywords
