Abstract
The distribution of lecithin, cephalln, and sphlngomyelln in normal and multiple sclerosis cases was determined in serum. The results in-dicate that the distribution of these 3 components averaged 65.0%, 9.4% and 19.7% of the total serum phospholipids in normal subjects, and was not altered in the disease state under study. However, the total phospholipid-P tended to be lower in the pathological group, averaging 8.86 mg% as compared to 9.92 mg% in normal subjects. Because of this diminution in phospholipids, the concentration of lecithin and sphingomyelin was lower in the multiple sclerosis cases. Keywords
