Toxicity of Naturally Occurring Arsenic in Foods

Abstract
Groups of rats were fed a stock diet with the addition of AS2O3 and of shrimp to the same total As level. Animals were killed after 3 and 5 1/2 mos., and liver, spleen and kidney sections examined. Rats receiving As2O3 fixed much larger quantities than those receiving shrimp. No retardation of growth occurred and in none of them was there any histological evidence of injury due to the level of As fed.
