Abstract
Optimum conditions for the coagulation of plasma by staphylococci require fresh human or rabbit (or other comparable) plasma, diluted not more than 14, a culture as young as possible on lactose agar made with proteose peptone, Difco (or other comparable medium), incubated at 37[degree] C, and inspected hourly for 4 hrs. and again after standing overnight on the laboratory table. Plasma may be preserved for at least 11 months by drying on blotting paper and storing in closed vials in the refrigerator. A simple method is described for preparing the plasma papers. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
