Abstract
Eight male and eight female Ss were required to read and speak extemporaneously under voice-masking (VM) and delayed auditory-feedback (DAF) conditions. All male Ss exhibited some degree of artificial stuttering under DAF. The speech behavior of the female Ss under DAF was much the same as under VM. Under considerable increase in side-tone intensity, the female Ss' speech behavior resembled that of the male Ss.Keywords
