Abstract
The essential oils of the flowers and leaves of A. sylvestris Hoffm. were examined. Phenol, o-cresol, eugenol, .beta.-myrcene, d-limonene, .gamma.-terpinene, p-cymene, benzyl alcohol, phenethyl alcohol, l-linalool, .beta.-farnesene and d-sabinyl acetate were identified from the flowers, and phenol, cresol (o-, m-, p-), guaiacol, eugenol, p-cymene, .alpha.-pinene, .beta.-myrcene, d-limonene, .gamma.-terpinene, terpinolene, .beta.-farnesene, cis-3-hexen-1-ol, benzyl alcohol, phenethyl alcohol, d-sabinyl acetate, l-.alpha.-fenchyl acetate and chrysanthenyl acetate were identified from the leaves. d-Sabinol was converted into p-cymene and .beta.-thujone when preserved in CHCl3, CCl4 and others, and by treatment with methanolic potassium hydroxide chrysanthenyl acetate into 4,6,6-trimethyl-3-cyclohexenecarbaldehyde. Luteolin, apigenin and caffeic acid were isolated from the flowers, and desoxypodophyllotoxin, stigmasterol, .beta.-sitosterol, n-paraffins, n-alcohols, fatty acids and esters were isolated from the flowers and leaves. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
