Abstract
We report on new analytical techniques applied to the Mössbauer spectra of the alloy Au-16.8 at. % Fe showing a magnetic double transition. With analysis of the effect of the electric-quadrupole hyperfine interaction on the spectra, it can be shown even from spectra in zero external magnetic field that the transition at T is a spin-canting transition.
