Abstract
The study of thermal radiation in light-weight fi brous insulations is of fundamental importance since a significant portion of the total heat transfer is composed of thermal radia tion. The analytical models for predicting radiative heat transfer in fibrous media based on simple conductive and more elaborate radiative approaches are reviewed. The development of a spectral two-flux model and a method of analytical determination of the radiative properties are presented. Keywords
