Alleles of the Second Component of Complement (C2) in Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract
Using 800 control sera and 55 from insulin-dependent diabetes it was attempted to determine if an increase in HLA-B15 in the diabetic population was associated with an increase in C22, the 2nd allele of the 2nd component of complement. While there was no increase, all 3 C22-positive individuals were B15-positive, compared to 6/15 in the control group.Keywords
