Abstract
We have studied by T.E.M. several dislocations dissociated according to : ± b = a/2 → a/6 < 211 > + a/6 < 121 > which were observed in CdTe deformed at room temperature [4]. This work is dedicated to describe the case of a dipole of dissociated dislocations; it intends to 1) check the use of a method to analyse the images of dissociated dislocations formed in kinematic contrast [2], 2) emphasize the influence of the thin foil surfaces on the dissociation equilibrium and estimate its magnitude in view of the ductility of CdTe. This seems to be at the origin of the scatter of the stacking fault energy values γ {111}, a/6 < 211 > displayed in the literature [4, 5]Keywords
