Abstract
A nonlinear interferometer driven with a partially coherent light field is analyzed. A limit on the fluctuations permissible in the driving field to observe bistability is calculated. For a Gaussian, broadband input field the transmitted radiation is shown to have enhanced intensity fluctuations. Keywords
