Abstract
Methods have been described for the determination in excised lungs of the total volume, compliance, residual volume, and expiratory flow rate, as well as for the fixation and drying of lung tissue in the inflated state and for serial sectioning of the dried lung. It is emphasized that functional studies should be conducted on lungs which are to be the subject of elaborate structural investigations. Keywords
