Abstract
In view of certain problems inherent in the maternity care experience for nursing students, the department of nursing studies in the University of Edinburgh has introduced a novel form of this experience. This programme reflects the philosophy of the department. The evaluation of this programme has revealed that the women who participated perceive that this scheme is of value in a range of respects. Some of these perceived benefits may provide useful insights for midwives regarding how the consumers view their care. Keywords
