Abstract
The correlation between the frontal projection and the volume of the thyroid gland was studied in 44 necropsy cases. The average error for the determination of the thyroid volume from the frontal silhouette of the gland was found to be about [plus or minus] 20% and the maximal error observed about 40%. It appeared from the investigation that the method of estimating the thyroid volume from the frontal scintigram must be less exact than has been previously stated. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
