Abstract
To the Editor: In the April 2 issue, Felix et al.1 recommend immediate treatment of drowning victims, involving not only simple cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) but also active rewarming. In our opinion, however, active rewarming started at the scene of the accident or even in the emergency room is not advisable and may be deleterious with respect to neurologic outcome.
