Abstract
Synopsis: The conversion of dry matter from the endosperm to the embryo decreases as soil moisture tension increases. CO2 evolution also decreases with increasing soil moisture tension. The decline in embryo growth and CO2 evolution exhibits a parallel relationship with growth decreasing at a faster rate than CO2 evolution. Keywords
