Abstract
The authors demonstrate a method for producing chirped fibre Bragg gratings with a phase mask of uniform period by a simple stretch and write technique. Gratings with widths of up to 10 nm have been fabricated by this method and the technique lends itself to writing gratings with controllable length, chirp and shading. Keywords
