Abstract
Renin was localized immunohistochemically in the brain using specific anti-mouse submaxillary gland renin antibody. Renin immunopositive staining was observed in neuronal cells for the 1st time, indicating the existence of endogenous renin in the brain. It was localized in regions of the cerebellum, brain stem, hippocampus, and cortex. Renin immunopositive staining was also detected in the adenohypophysis, pineal, choroid plexus and optic nerve. It was not seen in the neurohypophysis, area postrema, or subfornical organ. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
