Abstract
The electrophoretic pattern of prostatic secretion lipids was examined by means of a paper electrophoretic method. The clinical material included healthy subjects and persons suffering from benign prostatic hypertrophy and chronic pros-tatitis. Three lipid fractions could be identified in the normal prostatic secretion, though the lipid content was rather low judging from the faint color intensity of the paper strips. In prostatic hypertrophy and chronic prostatitis, the lipid content of the paper strips was considerably increased. Above all, the fraction lying close to the starting-line was increased. The changed secretory activity of the gland in pathologic conditions, with special regard to the lipid content, is pointed out. Keywords
