Abstract
Two groups of white rats, one motivated by hunger and thirst, the other satiated, had equal number of runs in a T-maze which contained food in one goal box and water in the other. They were then tested under identical conditions of motivation. The group motivated during the training trials showed a decidedly superior learning during the test trials. The results support the view that motivation and its satisfaction are important factors in learning.
