The Sperm Storage Function of the Seminal Vesicles

Abstract
The seminal vesicles of man obtained 8-12 hrs. post-mortem showed a few spermatozoa present but not enough to substantiate the view that these vesicles are actually storage reservoirs for sperm. The bulk of the content of the vesicles was not composed of sperm, but rather of a yellowish heavy viscid substance which undoubtedly makes up a considerable part of the semen. The few sperm present may be explained as having migrated there from the epididymis and vasa deferens some time after death.
