Abstract
Solutions in powers of 1 −x of the differential equation associated with the hypergeometric function pFp−1 are derived and the function is continued analytically in terms of these solutions. The analytic continuation is derived in a simple way from an expansion which is well suited for the purpose and which is valid for all values of the argument x. The usefulness of the 3F2 function in studying certain hypergeometric functions of two variables is emphasized. Keywords
