Stilbestrol and Urogenital-Tract Cancer in Adolescents and Young Adults

Abstract
THE reported association between vaginal adenocarcinoma in young women and maternal stilbestrol administration1 , 2 prompted a review of the records of the California Tumor Registry. The results of this review indicated that during the period 1963–1969, there had been a relative increase in the number of cancers of the vagina, corpus uteri, prostate, testis and male bladder in the group from 10 to 19 years of age as compared to the period 1950–1962.3 Interviews have been completed on 41 of these adolescents and young adults with cancer in various urogenital-tract sites.
