Abstract
The renewed interest in secondary school mathematics that resulted during preparedness and war periods did not instigate this investigation, as the problem here presented seemed important at any time in a plane geometry course. However, the criticisms from various sources of the content and methods of secondary school mathematics provided some motivation for this attempt to study one phase of the entire problem.Keywords
