Abstract
Abstract— —The macroscopic changes found in the cardiac tissue of 100 canine post mortem examinations are described, with notes on the normal anatomy of the atrio‐ventricular and semilunar valves. The highest incidence of change was seen to involve the atrio‐ventricular valves, particularly the mitral. Four distinct types of valvular lesion are described and the ways in which these lesions result in insufficiency of the valve, with regurgitation of the circulating blood, are discussed and demonstrated by diagrams of typical cases. Keywords
