Abstract
After supersonic treatment of whole chloroplasts the a : b ratio in sediments I and II was uniformly reduced by 7 - 11%; sediment III and the supernatant, with 1 exception, showed a differentially increased a : b ratio. The same was true for the "particles". A significant difference of 12-22% was found only from the comparison of sediments I and II on the 1 hand and sediment III on the other, in contrast with the comparison of all preparations of sediment III with whole chloroplasts. These methods . of preparation did not permit further conclusions as to the kind and uniformity of particles in the fractions.
