Abstract
The behavioral response of black cutworm, Agrotis ipsilon (Hufnagel), larvae to several light intensities was measured. The influence of food on the response was noted. The 1st 2 instars tended to be slightly photopositive. The 3rd instar demonstrated the 1st negative trend. The 4th to 6th-stage larvae were photonegative. Larvae that were starved for 15 h prior to exposure in the light chamber were less photonegative than larvae that were not starved. The presence of food on the light side of the choice chamber influenced the response of starved larvae. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
