Abstract
We have studied the properties of a photomultiplier with two sets of orthogonal anode wires. We measured the gain and the position response of this device using a point light source, extended scintillators and fibre scintillators in several geometries. Tests were done with sources and in a pion beam. In addition we studied the high rate capabilities of the device. Keywords
