Abstract
An efficient method for the synthesis of macrolides directly from ω-hydroxycarboxylic acids is established by using 4-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic anhydride and a catalytic amount of active titanium(IV) salts together with chlorotrimethylsilane under mild conditions.Keywords
