Abstract
The performance of a flashlamp-pumped fibre-bundle laser passively Q-switched by a Cr4+:YAG crystal is reported. Simultaneous passive Q-switching of 250 highly Nd-doped multimode phosphate glass fibres delivers pulses with 35 ns duration at a rate of 20 kHz. The generated Q-switch pulses are strongly modulated by a train of pulses < 500 ps with high peak powers exceeding 1 MW.Keywords
