Abstract
The hickory shuckworm, Laspeyresia caryana (Fitch), a native pest of hickory, has long been recognized as a major pest of pecans. Since female moths emerging in the spring do not oviposit readily in captivity, personnel of the pecan laboratory at Albany, Georgia, decided to examine the reproductive systems of these moths to determine whether nonovipositing females had mated. Although the life history of the hickory shuckworm moth has been studied extensively, the biology and morphology of its reproductive system have not been previously recorded. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
