Thermochemistry of aluminium halide–pyridine complexes

Abstract
The heats of formation of the crystalline adducts C5H5N,AlCl3, 2C5H5N,AlCl3, 3C5H5N,AlCl3, C5H5N,All3, and 3C5H5N,All3 have been determined calorimetrically. Vapour pressure measurements on the 1:1 complexes have enabled gas-phase heats of formation and dissociation energies to be calculated. The halide series are discussed and compared with other Group III systems.
