Inelastic electron scattering from small metal spheres

Abstract

Inelastic electron scattering from isolated metal spheres is considered. Expressions for the scattering cross section and for radiative scattering are derived. The only energy-loss mechanism studied here is due to local plasma-oscillation excitation.
