Abstract
P3-X63-Ag8 and X63-Ag8.653 mouse myeloma cells have an absolute requirement for cholesterol for growth under serum-free conditions. This requirement can be satisfied by low density lipoprotein at 2-6 micrograms/ml or by BSA-bound cholesterol at 5-10 micrograms/ml. Cholesterol-independent variants can be selected after prolonged growth in low concentrations of serum. This publication has 20 references indexed in Scilit:
