Abstract
Ferric chelates with benzoylacetanilide and benzoyl-metanitroacetanilide have been prepared and characterized. The complexes are dark red in color and are paramagnetic (μeff = 5.8 B.M.). Electrolytic conductance, electronic spectra, and infrared spectra of the complexes are reported. Absorption spectra point to weak donor ability of the ligands in comparison to acetylacetone. The complexes are octahedral.
